Family therapy is collaborative work between the therapist, client and the client’s family. Family can be considered anyone you have established a long-term and supportive relationship with whether blood related or not. And like many families, they’re vulnerable to conflicts at some point in life. At times these conflicts are difficult for families to manage amongst themselves which is why therapy is beneficial. As a licensed professionals we can assist in dealing with issues that affect the family as a whole. Through family therapy we identify the underlying issues that are causing conflict, figure out ineffective communication patterns, break old behaviors and thought processes, clearly identify roles and boundaries and develop long term solutions and coping mechanisms. At times it's difficult to see other perspectives within a conflict; A therapist would maintain a neutral perspective and assist in finding solutions based on logic, not emotion. We will work together to address each other in a way to help understand rather than reply.
